There are enough free email providers. munddigital.de finances servers, storage, backups and maintenance through fair contributions – not by analysing personal content.

Mail and cloud services are operated separately, maintained carefully and also used for my own communication. Security and clear limits are therefore not abstract promises, but part of my own daily life.

For personal communication. Not for bulk sending.

Newsletters, automated campaigns, spam, reselling and unlawful use are not part of the service. Unusually high sending volumes must be agreed in advance. This protects the shared email reputation.

Can anyone get an account?

No. munddigital.de is deliberately kept small. Every account is granted after a personal request and a short conversation; there is no entitlement to an account.

Can you read my emails or files?

munddigital.de is not an anonymous zero-knowledge service. As the technical operator, I have administrative access capabilities. However, content is not analysed for advertising, profiling or data trading. Additional end-to-end encryption is recommended for particularly sensitive content.

How do backups work?

External accounts are backed up automatically with versioning. Weekly backups with four restore points are kept. Restores are tested regularly. Which data can be restored in a particular case depends on the timing and cause of the data loss.

Is availability guaranteed or is 24/7 support provided?

No. The service is operated personally on a part-time, best-effort basis. Disruptions and security issues are prioritised, but there is no enterprise SLA and no guaranteed response time.

Why does the service cost money?

Because responsible operation requires servers, storage, backups, maintenance and time. You pay for the service – not indirectly with your data.
